We made it here!! The drive is long, tiring, and my bottom hurts. But we made it. The weather wasn't much fun for part of the way, the roads were slick and we drove in sleet and snow. Although I got to drive the last hour and a half which was on the curvy, windy roads in the mountains. Just after checking into our motel we met up with Doug and Jan, loaded up the vans to take across the boarder and ate supper. However, we came out of Denny's to find a flat tire on our van. Thank God the tire made it here before it decided to flatten itself. All three vehicles recieved a green light crossing into Mexico. : ) We hauled that load of stuff into the refuge, and are now back in our motel for the night. Jake was worried about crossing back into the U.S. and when they asked him where he was born, he hessitated and ask 'what?', the guy was nice and repeated the questions which luckily Jake did remember he was born in Iowa City. Here are a few pictures of our first few hours on our missions trip. (the other two in picture with us are Jan, the missionary here, and Gretta, she goes to our church and was able to come along this year.)
I will add more tomorrow to show you all what we get to do.
