I am excited to try out my new camera, an early birthday present from my wonderful husband! He got me a small canon to be able to take around with me, way easier than carrying the big camera around everywhere. (The big camera is still great for taking the kids out and taking nice pictures, and will still be used often for that such use.)
Colben woke up this morning and came down all smiles with his hair sticking straight out from his head all the way around. I'm not real sure how he got his little curls to look quite like this. He must have had quite a night.
Sami on the other hand just got her hair cut last night. A couple days ago her and Matt were in the kitchen goofing around with the broom. Matt had Sami back up against the stove and while they were wiggling around her back turned on the burner. Which caught her hair on fire, luckily the fire went out easily by her just flipping her hair around. This was pretty devastating to an 8 year old girl, but could have been much worse. Her hair had that burnt look and was kind of all matted together in the back. However, after a shower all the burnt pieces fell out and left her hair just looking scraggly. After a nice trim and layers add, it ended up looking very cute.
Ask the kids what they have learned from this and they will answer, "We don't play in the kitchen!"

Sam looks adorable with her haircut and colben looks adorable with his lack of haircut. :) I told the story to the girls and put the same "Don't play in the kitchen" spin on it. Great object lesson. :)
